Oh Look, AdmoPK!

Posted on December 20, 2024November 10, 2025 by Seth

Wow, I’m finally getting this place started! I had a few false starts, but I think I’m ready to give this place a go.

I originally made a personal journal that I was actively sharing, but I stopped announcing the updates since the subject matter got darker and more personal. My aim with this site is not to share all of the gory details of my therapy like I do at the other site, but to share more (dare I say) upbeat and informative pieces that are geared toward being actually helpful, maybe inspiring, or at least thought-provoking.

But who — or what — is Admo?

For starters, that’s me! I’m Admo! Hi, I’m Seth, or AdmoPK in gaming circles and beyond. I’m a 40something trans guy who lives in the not as great as it could be state of Texas, and I share my dwelling with a 9 month old teenage cat named Tommie Cena Bateman von Purrington the First, or Tommie, for short. She owns the place, I just pay the bills. I recently reclaimed my life from a decade of narcissistic and emotional abuse at the hands of my last two living blood relatives on my mom’s side, and with the help of an army of people, new friends, and my newly-reacquainted step family, I went from living below poverty despite appearances to having my own place, a great job, and plenty of time to write a memoir about everything that happened along the way.

I give a lot of credit to Samantha Béart for sharing their story in a manner that inspired me to actually do all of that, even though I did not feel like I was capable at the time. Lucky for me, they have a podcast (currently on hiatus) called It Takes A Village that, ten episodes in, has a ton of information on how people in the gaming industry work with others to get where they are in their various roles therein. Being a sort of leadership nerd (I’ve studied it as a hobby), I was able to translate a lot of that information into personal leadership and keep myself motivated, the past few months. You will hear a lot about it on the blog. In their professional life, Sam is a versatile actor with an ocean’s depth of emotional intelligence that has allowed them to play a variety of roles, and you might have heard their work as Karlach in Baldur’s Gate 3, or my personal favorite, Thomasina Bateman in The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow.

I am a writer and photographer with editorial experience, and I have been published in several places over the past three decades: from newspapers, magazines, government and company newsletters, websites, and more. I’m looking to pick up on this again in the near future. Additionally, I am a frequently occasional moderator for a few high-profile streamers, including friendo/bad ass voice actor, Erin Fitzgerald.

*Sigh* Okay, if you’re really curious, my pronouns are he/him, and I put the T in LGBT. I’m a Leo sun, Virgo moon and six other planetary placements (I’m basically a Virgo with a lion’s mane), and Gemini rising, my Myers-Briggs is ISFJ-T, my IQ is 155, I am autistic and have adhd, I prefer coffee over tea all day (decaf after 2pm), and I am very much a morning person. I like long walks on the treadmill, collect sports cards and dust (mostly dust), and my marital is fine, thanks. I also love to make others laugh. My favorite pen is the Zebra F-301 Compact, and I like Canon better than Nikon. *whew!*

I am now in the process of learning how to live a life that’s free of hypervigilance and trauma triggers, and it’s been rocky, but every obstacle has been broken, thus far. I only just got out of the homeless shelter at the first of November, so this is very fresh territory.

But what is Admo?

AdmoPK is a combination of the shortened form of my original gamer tag, Admonishment, and Player Kill/er, the latter of which is an homage to SypherPK back when he played Elder Scrolls Online. I never had to fight him much, because we were typically on the same alliance. I was a snipe spamming fool back then, but he was fun to watch. This video of his “bombblade” nightblade specifically is what turned me on to Inkyz, and subsequently, Arabic (“real”) Trap, which I still like to listen to when I hit the gym or need to focus.

Recently, AdmoPK has become an acronym for five promises to myself that I intend to live by:

Authenticity – living life honestly, without the need to hide, without feeling like I have to cover or exaggerate or minimize things. This includes with myself and others.

Dauntlessness – doing what I have to do to progress without fear or intimidation. I am unshaken, and I am unafraid.

Motivation – finding the energy and determination to follow through in things I need to do to progress.

Ownership – claiming my stake in the world with pride. I own my job just like I own my free time. If I’m not claiming that time, I’m losing it. Life’s to short to lose time.

Promises Kept
– the daily PK for all of the above, a time to check in with myself and ensure I’m following through on everything. Promises Kept always converts to positive karma.

Obviously, I’m also going to be talking about gaming, and there’s potential for some spilled fan fic along the way.

That’s me in a nutshell, I hope what I share will be of use, or at least interesting!

Oh, and if you’d like to hear the episode of It is Complicated, co-hosted by Josephine Baird and Dr. J Harrison, where Sam shared their story that inspired me to get to where I am, today, you can do so here (I’m still catching up on the rest of the episodes, and I recommend giving them a listen as well) :
